Culture shock

I have finally found a constructive version of pageantry. The Miss HIV Stigma Free pageant was recently held in Botswana to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. What struck me about the pageant's purpose is the self-confidence that flowed from the event. By doing this pageant, the country of Botswana recognizes that it's their number one killer and in that, every effort to counter the prevailing culture of imminent death is a positive one. I feel touched by the counter-culture that the pageant suggests and ultimately hope for more of the same innovation in other attempts to conquer this big killer disease.
