July 6th

Waking up to Montana's beauty was fabulous, creaky back and all.  Angelo drove on and shortly after another coffee press, we were in Idaho.

Idaho IHOP was interesting.  We were less than 100 miles from Canada and the American accents were stronger than ever!  I laughed as IHOP regulars chatted about the new Paradise feature menu, concerned and enchanted by the hula-styled waitresses, decked out for breakfast.

Customs in Creston, BC was a breeze although the rain continued to press us forward.  We listened to PJ Harvey (new release, Uh Huh Her) and decided it was good.  I read some of the Jonathan Franzen book "The Corrections" out loud, to laugh and enjoy the beautifully concocted words.  I refer to the section we read as 'Gary's volatile drinking, mixed grill debacle, and ladder running with an automatic hedgetrimmer scene'.  Hilarious.

Our last day, 14 hours later, ended with the odometer reading 3,751 kilometers in one little stinky car.  Well done.  We truly loved the adventure and the cultural experience of this 'Heartland' road trip.
