Okay, so what does it mean when a gadget like the boyfriend pillow, is popular? Not only popular, but in demand for export to other countries?

I often get a kick out of gadgets shown on television. This one is just tops though. The ads depict little, cute Japanese women sleeping comfortably in the 'arm' of a man. The part of the man that Carrie, on Sex and the City, refers to as the 'nook'.

Here is a review on the boyfriend pillow. Note, one can order a model with an alarm built in - now wouldn't that be helpful? Who needs a man - especially when you can get one for a mere 39 pounds to inhabit your bed?

Hey E I totally saw a picture of the boyfriend pillow in the Wpg Sun and started laughing! I guess if you find yourself "single and fabulous", not only do you not have to worry about a partner who snores, you don't have to worry about having no one to cuddle! Hmmm.....oh those Japanese, so cute and inventive!!

I knew you'd love the post on the "boyfriend pillow". When I saw it on the news, I laughed my ass off too. The Japanese cuties make it look good, don't they? I doubt that this item will be purchased by just the 'single and fabulous' group. Those ladies out there with worker-bee partners may be looking for some nook-time too.

This gimmick reminds me of the rumour that started when HOV lanes were implemented in Vancouver: that single occupant drivers were buying inflatable dolls to sit in the passenger-seat in order to take advantage of the high-occupancy-vehicle lane. Unfortunately, a few cops caught wind of the practice and put the kibosh on it. Pretty funny though. What did those folks do with the inflatable dolls after they were busted in the HOV lane? Hmmm....
